About Penny
Penny joined the Midlands ITS Team as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2011. Penny comes to the team with many years of experience having practiced as a highly specialist therapist with a wide range of communication difficulties in all ages.
Penny has worked extensively with learning disabilities and multi-disciplinary teams for adults within residential homes, supported living, workplaces, day services and colleges.
Most recently, Penny has worked in a residential setting for young people with Autism and challenging behaviour.
Within Penny's ASD specialisation she is a trainer in Makaton signs and symbols, Autism Awareness and techniques including 'Talking Mats'.
Penny particularly enjoys building relationships with families and carers to support all aspects of the individual's communication.
