About May:
May joined the Midlands ITS team in 2011 as a Speech and Language Therapist following gaining an MSc in Language Pathology.
May has experience in working with both children and adults with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. She has previously worked in special education settings which has provided externsive experience in working with ASD, complex needs, Cerebral Palsy and Global Developmental Delay.
Within the settings May has developed her skills to support staff to enable therapy, provide advice and signposting, she also suggests strategies to promote the individual's independence and communication. This approach promotes multi-disciplinary working and continuing consultation with parents, schools and other individuals imvolved.
May delivers therapy which focuses on speech sound development and language difficulties. This includes phonological awareness and articulation, sentence structure/various language components and early language skills.
