Leanne Toon
I.T.S are able to provide access to our associate colleague Leanne Toon. Leanne is a member of Partners in Psychology. She is able to offer a range of experience, skills and special interests combined with opportunities for collaborative practice.
Through Partners in Psychology, Leanne offers a personal, responsive and sensitive service for children, young people, families and educational settings. She works with children in the early years, primary and secondary stage of their education.
Leanne has been working as a qualified educational psychologist for seven years. She is a registered practitioner with the Health Professionals Council. Leanne is additionally qualified as a teacher and her professional training in educational psychology is to a Masters level. Leanne is currently completing a professional doctorate course and has a first class honors degree in social psychology.
Leanne's areas of special interest include:
Mental health and emotional wellbeing including educational exclusion, domestic abuse, anxiety, resilience, bereavement and loss
Social, emotional and behavioural development of children
Attachment theory, promoting positive social interactions and early nurture
Through consultation with parents, teachers and other professionals and drawing on solution focused practice, Leanne, as a member of Partners in Psychology, identifies the best hopes and goals for work together with her clients and their families.
Individual child assessments, e.g. cognitive and psychometric assessments, literacy assessments
Bespoke training
Supervision of a range of professionals
Group work with children and young people
Information and advice about how to support children with special educational needs
Intervention work including the application of cognitive behaviour therapy principles
Multi-agency working
Leanne can offer sessions during the evenings and weekends.
