About Gemma
Gemma joined the ITS team in 2012 as a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, she has worked extensively since 2009
with adults and young children with a wide range of learning difficulties. As a therapist with an interest in learning difficulties and learning disabilities Gemma has provided Speech & Language Therapy to individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, challenging behaviour, physical/sensory disabilities and leaning disabilities.
Gemma particularly enjoys working with young prople with communication difficulties, including therapy around social skills, speech clarity and high/low-tech communication aids.
In her clinical practice, Gemma has worked in community settings including colleges, schools, private homes and in clinic environments. She works extensively in the field of Dysphagia, providing assessments and therapy to adults with eating and drinking difficulties and also in a community clinic working with children with speech & language difficulties. She has provided both individual and group sessions which focus on social skills and clear speech.
Gemma is happy to provide advice and training to parents and staff in order to enable a holistic approach and multi-disciplinary working.
