We can now confirm the dates for our summer groups and intensive Autism Summer Camp for 2010:

Early Language Group

We will be running our Early Level Language Group for 5 weeks on the following dates:

Thursday 29th July
Thursday 5th August
Thursday 12th August
Thursday 19th August
Thursday 26th August
 
Each session will run from 1.30 - 3.00pm at:
The stables
Brooklyn House
44 Brook Street
Shesphed
Leicestershire
LE12 9RG
 
You must complete all 5 weeks preferably so that they therapist can promote the maximum benefit for your child. Please arrive ready to start at 1.30 prompt.
 
The cost for the 1.5 hour session per week is £75.00 per session, which is discounted from our normal hourly rate usually £75.00 per hour).
 
Each session will be run by our Speech and Language therapist: Melanie Carte, alongside student Speech and Language therapists from De Montfort University Speech and Language Therapy Department.
 
Our activities will focus on a range of early level language skills: attention and listening, expanding expressive language and ways to communicate needs, increasing better understanding, developing appropriate social skills.
 
Opportunity will exist for intensive 1;1 withdrawal work and we will include sensory integration activities to help focus the children’s attention.

Higher Level Language Group

We can now confirm we will be running our Higher Level Language Group for 5 weeks on the following dates:

Thursday 26th August (this session will run 3.00 – 4.30pm)
 
Each session will run from 10.30 – 12.00pm (with the exception of the last week – see above) at:

Each session will be run by our Speech and Language therapist: Sarah Savage, alongside student Speech and Language therapists from De Montfort University Speech and Language Therapy Department.

 

Our activities will focus on a range of higher level language skills:  understanding meanings and double meanings, understanding appropriate social communication skills to use, expanding expressive language skills, increasing higher level understanding, 
Opportunity will exist for intensive 1;1 withdrawal work and we will include sensory integration activities to help focus the children’s attention.

Intensive Autism Summer Camp

We can now confirm we will be running our Intensive Autism Summer Camp on the following dates:
 
Tuesday 24th August
Wednesday 25th August
Thursday 26th August
Friday 27th August

The group will run from 9.30 – 12.30pm and will take the following format:
 
9.30am     Morning activities
                 Snack (you will need to send your child with their normal snack please including a drink)
                 Late morning activities
12.30pm   Collect
 
The camp will run for 3 hours each day and costs £150.00 per child per day.  This is discounted from our normal hourly rate of £75.00 per hour)
 
Each morning will be run by our Speech and Language therapist: Sarah Savage and Amie Burrows, alongside student Speech and Language therapists from De Montfort University Speech and Language Therapy Department.
 
Our activities will focus on a range of communication skills: attention and listening, expanding expressive language and ways to communicate needs, increasing better understanding, developing appropriate social skills.  Opportunity will exist for intensive 1;1 withdrawal work, inclusion of sensory integration activities, practical self help skills and learning opportunities using the play world equipment and the small holding farm animals at Hope House School.
 
We will not require you to stay on site throughout the camp, however we will require you to leave an emergency contact number and be available to collect your child should we need to call you.
