We are pleased to announce that Alison Harris - experienced paediatric Occupational Therapist with a practice based in Derby is offering;
Individual Therapy Sessions
at the I.T.S. base in Shepshed on
MONDAYS throughout MARCH 2010
This is a pilot project to judge interest and plan for further collaborative working with I.T.S.
Sessions can be based around
Sessions can be based around
- Core stability and coordination skills
- Fine motor skills
- Handwriting - utilising Alison's well known Start Write Stay Right programme
Sessions must be pre-booked and will all take place on Mondays during March.
- Sessions will be 30 mins and depending on the age and ability of the child.
- Alison can offer two consecutive sessions to work on two areas. For example, one session on coordination and the second on fine motor skills.
- Alternatively, a single session can be booked. Ideally, for most benefit, Alison would prefer to see the children each week for four weeks, with active engagement and practice being done in between sessions.
- You are welcome to invite your child's Learning support assistant to observe the session and learn these skills.
- Session cost is £45 and this will include loan equipment and informal written targets during this period of treatment.
An initial assessment should be separately booked with Alison.

- Dyspraxia
- Developmental coordination disorder
- Specific difficulties with fine motor skills such as children with Down’s Syndrome, or hemiplegia.
- High functioning Autism or Asperger’s syndrome.
Alison may also be able to offer Sensory Integration therapy at a later date, so if this is an area of interest for your child, please let us know.
